We want success stories in performing and planning obsolescence management activities earlier in the life cycle and designing systems for successful obsolescence management.

This conference will bring together obsolescence management professionals, solution providers, academia, and those who want to learn how to understand and reduce their exposure to obsolescencerisk.

Workshops (running concurrently) - 24 October

Workshop 1: How to Justify the Need for Proactive Action
Synopsis: One of the more difficult tasks is in the persuasion of others. In the obsolescence management profession, we often spend more time developing PowerPoint slides and analysing spreadsheets just to move forward on a proactive action. This workshop looks to help all OM professionals in helping to identify the action needed and then persuading others to act on that action. This workshop will work through the obsolescence management process from IEC 62402: 2019 with a goal of introducing those new to obsolescence management to the identification and analysis techniques while helping more experienced OM professionals become more persuasive in the need to act proactively.

Workshop 2: Navigating the Global Supply Chain and Shortages
Synopsis: For most of 2021 and 2022, it felt like obsolescence management professionals spent more time than ever dealing with supply chain disruptions and shortages. This workshop looks to help all OM professionals in helping to navigate the complexities of the Global Supply Chain, forming relationships and partnerships with suppliers, and working together to uncover hidden obsolescence risks. This workshop will tackle the most important aspects of interfacing with a supplier, review case studies in successful global supply chain management, and how to proactively work with suppliers so that obsolescence and part shortages issues can be worked together and not hidden from each other.
